90 MILLION € ALLOCATED
90 million € allocated to protect the environment (wort.lu)
The Luxembourgish government has adopted some special measures to fulfill the goals internationally set in order to protect the environment. Such goals may be well achieved by paying attention to energy efficiency and by exploiting, more intensively, renewable sources of energy.
The government recently endorsed a series of provisions to modify the current legislation that disciplines the financial support provided for those that are building a house or renovating an old one. These measures will be applied from 2013 up to 2016. “In the coming four years we will allocate some 90 million €” said the Minister of Environment Marco Schank as he presented the provisions adopted by the government.
These resources will be allocated for the construction of low-energy houses as well as for the improvement of energetic standards in old buildings being renovated. Even the consultancy for the implementation of such projects will be subsidized by the government. Such allocations will be available for private citizens, associations, real estate companies as well as for building investors.
UP TO 160 EUROS PER SQUARE METER
Those, for example, that are building a house whose standards will fulfill those set for Category A will receive a financial aid of 160 € per square meter provided that the surface of their property does not exceed 150 sq. m. and they have submitted their request for permission to build such unit by the end of 2014. Houses whose construction will start in 2015 or 2016 will receive a subsidy of 70 € per sq. m. In case of houses that are fulfilling lower standards (Category B), the financial support stands at 45 € per sq. m.
If old houses are renovated, a bonus of 10, 20 or 30% is available always depending on the category but provided that the renovation process improves the standards of that residential unit by two categories.
