Energy efficient house

What makes an energy efficient house? Given the rising prices for the supply of any property with energy, energy efficient houses are not only a trend, but rather a necessity. Strictly speaking, every real estate which is being planned and constructed nowadays may fall under the definition of energy-efficient house, especially if you take old premises and properties as your reference.

As a result of laws and other provisions such as the Energy Conservation Act, any house planned and conceived as per the standards of the past would no longer get a building permit.

The construction of an energy efficient house sounds at first more complicated than it actually is in reality. After all it is only about the adoption of modern energy standards when building a house, which, as the collocation already suggests, stands out for its particularly low energy consumption. This goal is achieved nowadays via two measures: an appropriate insulation of the house and by using the latest heating technology.

Energy Efficient House 55

The most economical among the three options currently available is the so-called Energy Efficient House 55. The energy consumption of this house cannot exceed 55% of the heating energy requirements for a new building as determined by the current standards and the legislation in force. The exterior walls are highly insulating while all windows and doors must be triple glazed. The house is also oriented to the sun so that heat can be recovered via the glazing of windows and doors as well as via the roof thereby reducing energy consumption. In addition to that, an efficient heating system is installed and a solar thermal system is required too to support the main heating system and for the provision of hot water. Also needed is a central ventilation system, thereby recovering 80% of the heat from exhaust air.
